Gods Eater Burst is an action game published by D3 Publisher released on March 16, 2011 for the Sony PlayStation Portable.
Review by Phanatoz:

Gods Eater Burst.
Gods Eater Burst is often compared with Monster Hunters since of the similar battle style.
While Monster Hunter took the more realistic approach of actual hunting, Gods Eater Burst (From now on will be called GEB) takes a more jump around, dash, jump slash typical shounen approach.
Now, just because it’s more shouneny doesn’t mean it’s easier.
GEB is mostly not noob friendly when it comes to the big bosses. You have to be skilled and prepared in this game like Monster Hunters.

GEB is set in a post apocalypse world that has been taken over by a new alien life form, the aragami.
A few decades later scientist have finally found a way to kill these life forms, by using their own life form as a weapon. (the people who wield the weapons are also called Gods Eaters)
Thus the weapons called Gods Eater are created with an aragami life form as it’s core.
You play as a new Gods Eater with a new generation weapon that can either be used as a Sword, or a gun.
While other Gods Eaters just have to use a sword or a gun.

Okay, enough of the interesting stuff.
GEB was awfully fun.
The plot wasn’t all that special, but then again, it’s a Monster Hunter type game where it mainly is just focused on cutting down your enemies mercilessly.
The fighting style in this game was a lot more fun since you feel in the shoes of your favourite shounen character destroying their enemies.
But the fighting style was what made it hard, since of all fast movements and sword slashes your stamina will eventually run out.
And when the enemy attack is right on you and you’re out of stamina, what could you do? Just about nothing, except for block which also takes up stamina when getting hit.
Or you could just be a little sissy and just shoot them monsters from the background while your teammates do all the work.
Well, whatever floats your boat~

Oh, did I mention the friendly NPCs?
It’s a really nice feature when you need to step out and heal yourself, or if you don’t wanna waste all your meds one friendly can heal you.
The friendly NPCs are characters too, like oh so under boobs Alisa or oh so sexy side boobs, ass and legs Sakuya.
Now the NPC designs are very enjoyable (like very) their controls aren’t that great, nor is their AI.
There are a few controls/commands you have for them (in which I am not going to mention) but all they basically do is “Run, look for enemy, and come back”. Not much control like “Heal me” or “Only attack” kind of stuff. NPCs only heal until you’re practically dead which is by the time you already used all your meds.

Even though it may not look like it, but there are different types of Blades, Guns and Shields.
You can change it to how you prefer to fight the monster.

In then end, this is a game for people who like action packed lengthy battles with very minimal support from NPCs and a plot (very bad one too).
